Attendance

Attendance Matters!

Here's why it's so important to be at school:

  • Learning is easier when you're there. Each day you learn new things that build on what you learned the day before. If you miss even one day, you might miss important information that makes it harder to understand the next lessons. This can make it hard to keep up with your classmates and might even affect your grades.
  • You'll do better in reading and math. Studies show that students who attend school regularly are better at reading and math. This is because you're in class to learn, practice, and get help from your teachers.
  • It's a chance to make friends and feel connected. School is a great place to meet new people and build relationships with your classmates and teachers. You get to work together on projects, talk about what you're learning, and just have fun. Being at school regularly makes you feel like you belong.

Reporting an Absence

  • If your child is sick or has an appointment that will cause them to miss school, call the office at  (530) 225-0420. For preplanned appointments or absences, please call ahead of time.
  • When your child returns to school, please provide a note that includes the student's name, date(s) of absence, reason for absence, and parent's signature.

Education is the passport to the future, and attendance is the stamp that gets you there!
